Demand a Science-Based Treaty

Despite our massive mobilizations this year, world leaders are still caving to powerful special interests.

The targets on the table right now don't get us back to 350--in fact, they put the world on track to hit a devastating 770ppm by century's end--literally a scorched earth scenario.

Can you call your world leader and let him or her know that a global climate treaty must be grounded in science?

Just use call-tool and the script below--it will take about 3-minutes from beginning to end.

If your country is a 350 champion:

"On behalf of the global civil society movement unified behind the most ambitious outcome at Copenhagen, I want to thank you for your sustained leadership.

"The stakes are so high, and while I am not in Copenhagen, I wanted to express my support for reaching an agreement that will safeguard survival, and limit Carbon Dioxide equivalent concentrations to 350 parts per million, and limit temperature rise to 1.5 degrees C, with the provision of financing to make this transition possible.

"These requests are nothing short of what science and justice demand; and I stand with you from my home across the world, asking for your help in reaching this outcome. Please communicate this message to our environment minister and head of state. Thank you."

If your country isn't yet on board:

"I represent one of the hundreds of millions of people worldwide watching and waiting for the Copenhagen agreement to truly be in line with what scientists demand.

"Hundreds of countries and millions of average citizens have spoken up in support of reaching 350 ppm; now I'm asking you to take this very seriously as you approach the final days at Copenhagen. We are counting on you

"Please communicate this to our environment minister and head of state. Thank you."
